Austin's 5th Birthday- Superhero Style

This year we had Austin's Superhero birthday party at ASI Gymnastics!  It was the easiest party ever- I didn't go overboard on decor (surprise) & they do everything for you!  I KNOW all of the kids had a wonderful time!  They had time on the trampolines, the floor mat, and then the rope swing/foam pit!

Birthday boys & visitors!

Over the last few weeks we've had some visitors, my mom (Gigi) and Linda (Nana)!  They were here to visit and also help me get some things done around the house!  Linda was here for 1 week, my mom was here for 3 weeks (Dad joined her on the 3rd week for Austin's party!)  Lots of shopping, lots of fun- here are a few pics from their time :)

Going to see Grandma Anna

Love this pic- everyone wants to be around Gigi!

On Shane & Austin's actual birthday, the house was still busy with workman (refinishing our kitchen cabinets)- so things were a bit chaotic!  We decorated Austin's room (per his request) & had donuts for breakfast before opening his gifts from us.  We ate lunch at Schlotzsky's & then Shane requested Cheesecake Factory for dinner- a fun day for all!!

Butterflies

For Austin's birthday last year, he got a Live Butterfly Garden.  I didn't think much of it, but he had been asking to open it... so I did.  I had to go online and order the larvae & they were mailed to us within a few days.  It was the easiest thing ever- you basically watch them transform into butterflies over a few weeks!

Austin loved checking on them daily, watching them transition through each stage, grow, and finally become butterflies!  We kept them inside for a few days & then released them into the backyard.  We already have a lot of butterflies in our yard, but every time I see one now... I wonder if it's one of those 5 that we released!

Will you be my Valentine?

This is the first year when Austin has really been excited about Valentine's Day, so I decided to really do a lot to celebrate!  After waking up, we had a yummy breakfast of fruit, cinnamon rolls, and red juice.  How cute did those heart ones turn out?  So easy~

Since Valentine's Day fell on a Thursday this year, we rushed to get ready for school- a quick picture with my love before we left!

Austin's gift to his teachers (cookies and gift cards)

Austin & Sydney at school- we love that sweet girl!

After school we got our cute gift from Austin- I love it!!

We spent the afternoon making chocolate covered strawberries and riding bikes.. then made dinner!  We had a heart shaped pizza & fruit!

Austin's favorite part- the balloons!

After dinner was dessert time- cookies, strawberries, and slushies!!  A fun day for all!!  XOXO

Bikes, lizards, donuts and more

My monthly random picture post..

So I found this woman who was selling her bike for $40- she has only been on it twice!  So I thought it would be fun for us to ride bikes together (and yes, he LOVES it!)  Shane plans to get one too!  Yes, I know the helmet looks goofy, but I must be a good example!  :)

We have a TON of lizards in our yard- Austin has become quite fond of them.

Just a cute shot of us!

Austin's first trip (definitely not his last) to Krispy Kreme.  He was fascinated with the icing of the donuts.  I was fascinated with how quickly our family of 3 consumed a dozen of them.  Only shot and he's blinking...oh well!

We tried on at least 4 different dress up costumes the other day- this was my favorite!  Hahaha- he's so cute!

And finally, a fun adventure with Reid & Mr Jared (while mommy & daddy were looking at new tile for the kitchen.)  These boys love playing together!
