Thanksgiving

This year we hosted Thanksgiving at our house for us, Mat, Shanna, and the girls!  We had a great day and tons of yummy food, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures!  After lunch the kids napped and then we went to see an adorable new movie, Frozen!  Then I headed out to do some Black Friday shopping- CRAZY.

Evie spent the night before Thanksgiving with us and they had a great time doing a cute Thanksgiving turkey craft.  We asked them to tell us things they were thankful for & then wrote them on the turkey "feathers"- they turned out really cute!

Also loved the crafts & gifts that Austin brought home from preschool~

And lastly, with our recent cold weather we have had a squirrel take home in our bird feeder.  It is hilarious to watch him shove leaves into his mouth, climb in there, and cover the hole with leaves to stay warm!

ICE… The Nutcracker!

We decided to visit the ICE exhibit at the Gaylord Texan again- this year the theme was The Nutcracker!  I was excited that we were able to go with friends this year- so Austin was able to experience it with other children!  I didn't think it was as good as last year, but still so beautiful… and EXTREMELY cold!

Addison, Alex, & Austin- ready to go in!

Lubbock

We always have a great time when we get together with the Taylors… and this weekend was nothing short of that!  We headed to Lubbock on Friday morning- who knew we'd have such an educational trip!  We learned all about wind turbines and cotton fields (we even stopped on the side of the road and got some cotton- not out of a field, but that had blown onto the road.)  Austin thought both were equally interesting :)

We arrived by mid-afternoon and relaxed for a while- letting the boys play in their amazing back yard and getting a tour of their beautiful house!  We headed to dinner and then rushed to the drive-in for a double feature movie!  We have been wanting to take Austin to the drive-in, but just haven't gotten around to it- so this was his first time!  Granted it was COLD, but we all had a GREAT time!  We saw Free Birds & Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2.

Austin & Payce playing on the iPads before dinner

Knox, Austin, and Payce at the drive-in.  It was impossible to get a good pic of them all… as you can see.  They were sitting in the back of Christy & Zach's car & the 4 adults were next to them in the back of our minivan.  Lots of blankets, lots of snacks.

The next morning we casually got up and ate breakfast, then I spent some time helping Christy pack (they are moving in 2 weeks) while the guys watched the boys play outside.  We ate a late lunch and then headed to this farm/pumpkin patch.  I am so glad we went because we failed to make it to a pumpkin patch before Halloween…. parent fail.

Corn cannon… such a guy thing.

That evening Knox ended up getting sick, so we had a relaxing evening of watching football and eating pizza!  Later Austin & Payce made smores.. in the fireplace!  Ha ha!

Two peas in a pod- they have so much fun together!  Can't wait for our next time together!
