Painting Party with the girls!

My amazing friend, Amber, planned a painting housewarming party for some of my friends!  I picked out paint colors for the kitchen and dining room- in hopes that we MIGHT get to both rooms!  There were 5 of us, and those girls are work horses- we started painting around 8pm and finished at 3am... seriously.  Aren't they great?

Getting ready for everyone by making some fruit dip- clean up is the best part!

The fab five :)

This picture just cracked me up with Mindy on the fridge!!!

Before & After pictures... remember I have not decorated yet- so ignore everything besides the paint color!

Kitchen- BEFORE (paint color was a neutral but with a lot of yellow tones in it.)

Dining Room- BEFORE (don't even get me started on the blue... and the trim makes the upper part of the walls look even more yellow.)

Moving...

It's been a busy last few weeks.  Packing the old house, slowly moving loads over each day, unpacking at the new house, and then our big move with friends (furniture, attic stuff, and 2 storage units) was this past Saturday!  I really can't express what wonderful friends we have- to spend an entire day helping us moving on a HOT July day.. WOW!  Thanks to Mat & Shanna, Jared & Leah, and Josh & Amber!  We started at 9am and ended around 4pm- who knew we had that much stuff!  I didn't take any pictures, as I knew everyone wouldn't want me posted how lovely we all looked!  But here are a few random pics from the week~

Old house all packed up...

Honestly just looking at these pictures makes me tear up.  This is the home we brought our baby Austin home to.  So many sweet memories here.. ugh, it's killing me to leave.  Plus I loved how we had this house decorated exactly as we wanted it.  Don't get me wrong, I love our new house and the potential it has.  But it will be years before we get it updated and decorated.  Speaking of, my first quick fix project.... spray painting all 60+ cabinet handles in the kitchen & laundry room.

Before- yucky gold

During

After- nickel finish

And then I thought I'd post a few pics of Max adjusting to the new house (Jack spends most of his time hiding still.)

Taking a ride to the new house.. seriously he's like a dog.  Jack preferred the cat carrier.

Hanging out on the new screened in porch- he LOVES it

Spoiled rotten.  I've found him in our sinks several times this week.. but seriously, how cute is he?  Notice his paw in the second picture.

New House & 13th Anniversary

We are now proud owners of not one, but TWO, homes!  :)  Ha ha!  But the good news is that we sold out old house!  Actually accepted an offer on our 13th anniversary!  It's been a busy week!

Our new house

At closing

Both sets of our parents came into town to visit & help get the new house ready!  My parents had planned to come visit in August, but my mom's chemo treatments changed all those plans.  Shane's parents stayed with us for a few days & then with Shanna for a few, and my parents stayed at our new house (we set up the guest bedroom furniture for them!)

We have the best families- they worked so hard helping to get light fixtures and ceiling fans hung, cabinets lined, house cleaned, yard cleaned up, etc!  We really enjoyed our time together... including dinner out to celebrate Gary's birthday & our anniversary!

On July 4th we had a pretty quiet day & celebrated with dinner at Cheesecake Factory!  Austin didn't nap, so we opted out of fireworks- hopefully next year!

One last thing we were able to do while my parents visited was to go see my Grandma Anna!  She is in a nursing home now, but was doing so much better than last time we went to see her.  We had a great time visiting!  She is so precious to me~
