Destin Beach Pics 2014

On our recent trip to Destin, we had a sweet friend take our pics professionally.  She did an amazing job- I am so pleased with how they turned out!  Thanks to Katie Hollis with Memory Mom Photography!

Red Raiders party

Tonight the Red Raiders got together one last time to celebrate the end of a GREAT season!  We all met at a local park and had pizza with cookies & ice cream!  The boys played, the parents talked- it was a lot of fun!

My favorite part of the evening was when Truman came to the party.  Truman was only able to play a few games with the team before being diagnosed with leukemia (hence the patches on the arm of their uniforms.)  He has been undergoing intense treatment, but his dad drove him to the party to accept his trophies and see the team!  I loved seeing the expression on his face as he held his trophies, and the faces of the boys when they saw Truman!  It was a sweet moment for all of us!  Praise the Lord for his mighty healing powers!  Austin prays for Truman every night, and the night of the championship game he said to me, "Did Coach Chris get Truman's trophies?"  He was so worried- sweet boy!

The ENTIRE team- all 10 of them!

One last talk from Coach Chris!  So blessed to have him as Austin's coach this year!

Another tooth… GONE!

And the second tooth is gone!  This one was literally holding on by a thread, so Ms Leah helped pull it out because mommy was too nervous to do it!

CHAMPIONS!!!

What an amazing season for the Red Raiders!! They came in 2nd place for the regular season- having only one loss to a GREAT team (the Troopers.)  Seriously they are hard core.  So this week we've been in the 6U tournament!  After a semi-finals win this morning- we moved on to the championship game against the Troopers (literally 15 minutes later.)  I'll be honest, I thought there was no way we'd even be able to keep up… especially after just having played a full game.  WELL- I was wrong.  The Red Raiders played their hearts out!

Going into the last inning, we had to hold them at no runs- which we have never done.  But guess what?  WE DID- sending us into an extra inning…. and then another!  And then with one out and the tying run on 3rd (that would send us into a 3rd extra inning)- we got a double play to end the game!  Winning 21-20.

Seriously you would have thought we had just won the world series with all that screaming!  It was a phenomenal day- so proud of these boys.. especially mine!  Austin has made such improvements this year!  I can't wait to see how he does in the fall!!

I love the expressions on their faces- Andrew, Austin, and Matthew

"Mommy, I got TWO trophies!"

Fun Friday~ bowling & the fair

What a fun day!  Austin has been wanting to go bowling since his birthday, so we went- just the two of us!  To get the full experience, we even ate lunch there!  We had a great time together!  I love my little dates with him! :)

That evening we surprised Austin and met friends (Jared, Leah, Reid, and Grant) at the Grapevine Main Street Days festival!  We had never been before- it was a big deal!  We rode a lot of rides, ate a ton of greasy fair food (funnel cake included), did some shopping, etc!  By the time we left my stomach was a mess from all the junk food from the day!  But it was worth it!

Ready to go throw away some money!

Last time we went to the fair, Daddy got to feeling bad after a few of the rides.  So this time he stuck with bumper cars and Mommy got the "dizzy" rides!

Big Bugs Year End Program

This was a very special weekend!  Gigi was able to visit for a few days on her way to spend time with her sisters- so she was able to go to one of Austin's tball games AND his end of the year program at preschool!

Eating some BBQ after his game

Lunch after church on Sunday- a rare pic of the 3 of us!

A few pics before the program

The program was great- and Austin did such a good job!  He sang the songs and knew all the movements!  The Big Bugs class did two songs- and I totally teared up for both of them!  After they performed we went into another area and watched a slideshow and then each student was presented with a certificate and a gift (a new bible!)  Then we all went to the classroom for cookies and drinks!

It was a night of mixed emotions for me- proud of how well Austin had done, but also sad that it was our LAST program at SCP!  :(
