Camping... trial run

This past weekend we had originally planned to go camping with our good friends, the Windoms. But as the day got closer, I just felt like it would be a stressful experience for all 3 of us & that we needed to wait until next year. Plus the weather forecast was saying it would be in the 30s on Saturday morning- NO THANK YOU. We did, however, decide that spending Friday afternoon & evening at the campsite would be fun. So we headed out to Lake Mineral Wells State Park (1.5 hrs away) and arrived by late afternoon. After checking out the campsite, we headed out for a hike- the boys LOVED IT! Here are few pics~

While the guys worked on getting the fire going, we started getting things ready for dinner. We cooked hot dogs over the fire & then did smores afterwards- everything was great! We sat around the fire for a bit while the boys played & then headed home around 7:30. Austin watched a movie on the way home & fell asleep once his head hit the pillow at home. He was worn out & so were we!
