Acts of Service and Kindness- Week 13

Week 13- Take cold water & capri sun drinks to the trampoline park for others to enjoy!

We joined friends for some jumping fun before school started- Sydney & Matthew start kindergarten tomorrow!

In addition, we made cookies for 3 of Austin's friends who are starting kindergarten!  They were a new recipe and SO yummy- Brown Butter, Oatmeal, and Butterscotch Toffee Chip Cookies!

Acts of Service and Kindness- Week 12

Week 12- Take groceries to the local food pantry

First we went to Target and bought a bunch of groceries- the food pantry had supplied a list of food they were in need of at this time.

The Roanoke Food Pantry is pretty close to our house- it's amazing!  They were so friendly and very appreciative of the food we dropped off.    

The facility- it's quite large and has a lot more than just food available for those in need.

This was a great act of kindness that prompted a lot of conversation between Austin & I about all of our blessings.  We eat at least 3 meals a day, we have a lovely home, cars, clothes, education, money to do fun activities, Daddy has a job, a wonderful church, lots of friends, and so much more.

Gran's Birthday

Gran & Papa Gary were able to spend the night with us a few days before Gran's 60th birthday, so we decided to celebrate with dinner and cake!

I made the cake- a hummingbird cake with cream cheese frosting!  It was REALLY good!

Making a rocket

A few days ago Austin had the idea of making a rocket out of a cardboard box (thanks to the Disney channel.)  I thought he would forget about it, but no.  So we went out looking for some boxes & after a few days and lots of hard work.... we have a rocket!  I have to say it did turn out pretty cute!
